Ed Sheeran Believes He Knows What The Song Of The Summer Will Be

Ed Sheeran is ready to put the debate to bed. In fact, Sheeran is certain he knows what the song of the summer will be.

Sheeran is pretty certain that “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon will steal the so-called “Song of the Summer” title. At least that’s what Ed Sheeran said when talking to Vulture at the American Institute of Stuttering Gala at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers.

“I’m just hearing that everywhere. It just makes everyone happy whenever they hear it. I really like that song.”

According to Vulture, Sheeran’s songs are too slow to be considered summer jams in 2015, but the news outlet said Sheeran is OK with that, especially since he had one of the most popular songs of last summer with “Sing.” In May of 2014, USA Today reported that Sheeran’s “Sing” was the No. 1 song to memorize for the summer. The song spent seven weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and topped out at No. 13.

Ed Sheeran also mentioned another song he’d like to see do well this summer: “Trap Queen” by Fetty Wap, he told Vulture.

“It’s amazing that ‘Trap Queen’ is such a massive hit. I love that.”

Sheeran is a great lover of hip-hop music and makes it known often that he supports the genre. In fact, Ed Sheeran recently covered “Trap Queen” on a Fallon episode.

Media outlets have noted that Sheeran did not mention “Bad Blood” by Taylor Swift, which is surprising, considering the close friendship that Sheeran and Swift seem to have developed recently.

Currently, “See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth sits in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, followed by Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood.” “Trap Queen” by Fetty Wap is in the No. 3 spot while “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon is in the No. 4 spot. “Want to Want Me” by Jason DeRulo rounds out the top five.

Considering the fact that both the songs Sheeran mentioned are already in the top five, it is quite possible that Sheeran’s predictions could come true.

Ed Sheeran: I’m responsible for boosting the sex lives of ginger men

Ed Sheeran believes ginger men are getting more sex – and they have him to thank for it.

The British singer, whose heartfelt songs have found international acclaim, told a US radio station that British ginger men are capitalising on riding a wave of interest from the opposite sex thanks to the fashionability of their hair colour.

“There are a lot of ginger dudes in England who are using me,” he said in the interview. “That’s why I’m not hating on it. You know what, we’re finally getting laid! This is a good thing.

As evidence, Sheeran cited a man who apparently impersonates him in clubs as a seduction technique.

“My cousin went on holiday with all her mates,” explained the ginger-locked singer. “Her mate was in a bar and this dude came up to her and said ‘I have my song in on the radio and my name is Ed Sheeran’.

“So she is like ‘Hold on a minute’ and she goes to get my cousin and she says (to the guy) ‘Tell her that.’

“And he goes ‘Yeah my name is Ed Sheeran and I have got this song on the radio’ and then Kathy, my cousin, just pulls out her ID and holds it up and it says Kathy Sheeran and she yells out ‘Look at that! Not today mate… not today’.
“And the guy goes to all the bars in all the land. Apparently it works for him.”
