Ed Sheeran Confirmed for Cameo in the Third Bridget Jones Series Film

The long-awaited third installment to the Bridget Jones series of films finally has a chance to see the light of day, despite previously having difficulties with making the project fly. Recent photos have revealed that the actors as well as all the people involved were spotted in London, shooting key scenes for the new Bridget Jones movie — possibly one of the most anticipated romantic comedy films for the next year.

“Bridget Jones’s Baby,” as the movie is called, was scheduled to be out April 2016, as The Sun reported while capturing moments from the London shoot. One of the more memorable photos portrays Academy award-winning actress Renee Zellweger (playing the titular Bridget Jones) being carried away by her two fellow actors Colin Firth and Patrick Dempsey — possibly shooting a scene where a pregnant Bridget Jones is being rushed to a hospital. Other gallery highlights include Firth chatting up with Zellweger and another one where Firth was loitering somewhere around the main area of the University College London Hospital.

Fans of “Bridget Jones” already are familiar with the film series being built around the premise of a novel modernization: specifically that of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice.” Some may find it interesting to note that the titular character may now have developed from a woman who is looking for love into one that has found it and is now getting ready to start a new chapter out of the same sentiment.

In any case, fans were made even more excited for the reported appearance of popular singer Ed Sheeran. Lifestyle e-zine Marie Claire reports that the “Thinking Out Loud” singer was “excited about [the role]” after confirming that he will make a cameo appearance in the new Bridget Jones movie. Of what or whose character Sheeran will portray will, in the meantime, remain as a matter for speculation.

A Message From Ed

Ed has taken to instagram with a note to his family, friends & supporters. Read it below.

Hello All
I’m taking a break from my phone, emails and all social media for awhile. I’ve had such an amazing ride over the last five years but I find myself seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes, so I’m taking this opportunity of me not having to be anywhere or do anything to travel the world and see everything I missed. To my family and friends, if you love me you will understand me buggering off for a bit, to my fans, the 3rd album is on its way and is the best thing I have made thus far. See you all next autumn and thank you for being amazing.

Ed Sheeran having surgery for a burst eardrum

Our best goes out to Ed and we hope for a speedy and safe recovery!

Ed Sheeran will be starting out the New Year on a difficult note — with surgery on a badly-damaged eardrum.

The British “Thinking Out Loud” singer will take a break from his world tour, which is currently in New Zealand, to address the malady. But if you think it’s a work-related matter that comes with the job of being a musician, think again.

“I have to have an operation in January on my ear because I stupidly jumped off a yacht really high up and smashed it,” the 24-year-old singer tells Nova radio in Australia, explaining that the mishap occurred while he was on vacation in Spain. “I landed wrong and it burst my eardrum, so I have to go and get a graft, which means I’m not allowed to fly for a while — so it’s kind of good, it means I have to stay at home.”

Sheeran, who was joined on his tour Wednesday (Dec. 9) in Sydney by Elton John on a duet of “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” says that he tried to ignore the injury at first. But when he attempted to go swimming again, he quickly realized that he’d be needing the attention of a doctor.

“It’s the most painful thing,” he insists. “Having a hole in your eardrum, and having water go in.”
